Fed: Employment surges again to record high

CANBERRA, Jan 16 AAP - Businesses have put on the equivalent of a small city in extrastaff over the last two months, with new figures showing employment surging to a recordhigh.
Official figures showed employment snowballed in December for the fourth straight monthto 9.48 million, although increased numbers of jobseekers pushed the jobless rate up anotch to 6.2 per cent.
